united cry

Brothers and sisters, we must continue in focused prayer and love. It is time for repentance. We need not become despondent, desperate, or derogatory in our rhetoric; our Father is none of those things.

Marriage in His Eyes

Here’s what I know: Marriage is an institution molded in the thought process of God.

First, He created man. He created this amazing being in His image and communed with him. He also empowered him and gave him work, tending the garden.

Then God formed woman from man’s side and brought her to him. He formed the beautiful revelation that is woman, also in His image, and presented her as a precious gift to man as someone to be treasured.

There was no ceremony, just two souls united in the presence of our almighty God, and He blessed them:

“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” -Genesis 1:26-28, NKJV

And thus we had the first marriage. One man. One woman. Ordained by the Ancient of Days, Himself. No witnesses, no rings, no law. Marriage came to pass because God said it was so.

Before the formation of any government, before there were physical laws for governing, there was God and He designed this amazing union of man and woman into marriage. The highest of rulings is always God’s Law.

The Law

As you know, June 26 the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that bans on same-sex marriage were unconstitutional. Homosexual unions are now legal in all 50 states.

Know that your First Amendment right to freely practice religion, means that churches, and other religious institutions, will not be required to perform same-sex ceremonies as this contradicts belief systems and practices.

Currently, Texas has the Pastor Protection Act which allows clergy the right to refuse to perform such ceremonies as well. Tennessee, as of June 26, has also drafted a version of this Act.

Statistics and Final Thoughts

It is only a small percentage of Americans that self-identify as homosexual (1.6%) or bisexual (0.7%), according to the CDC: Sexual Orientation and Health Among U.S. Adults. Yet due to unified efforts, a victory was garnered in the highest court of our country.

Again, I would like to encourage you that this is not a time for discouragement. It is a time to repent and cry out for God’s mercy on America. “Our fight is not against flesh and blood.” (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV) Like many other national sins, this will be determined in the Spirit. People are looking for love and comfort in any of the ways it comes.

Remember, we serve a God who loves impossible odds, and Who consistently works through humble and hungry hearts. If such a small number of people can unify, to affect such a large change in our land, how much more can we who are empowered by the grace of God and His Spirit affect necessary change?

It is my belief that whether by many or by few, and we will be 30,000-strong on April 9, we will see the hand of God move in unexpected ways to recapture the hearts of many in the land.

We are not lost. We have gained an opportunity to unify. When a remnant unifies with one heart and one mind focused on the will of God, nothing can come against them. Let’s focus on our part, to gather, to pray, and to repent.
